Self Empowerment – Create Your Magnificent Reality

Experiencing your most creative, inspired incarnation of your soul self can be exquisitely fulfilling!
You must focus on being “on purpose” – really tuning in to just what you want, having true clarity about which life path you wish to walk. Sometimes that seems like it can feel beyond ones reach. However, be open to your inner guidance, that profound knowing about the best way for you to personally navigate forward.
Create crystal clear visions of your life dreams. See yourself achieving them!
And as you take each energetic and action step, make sure to celebrate your successes and accomplishments along the way. This is key. Even baby steps that take you in the direction you wish to go should be noticed and rejoiced! Pat yourself on the back…
Bask in the beautiful, sublime energy of feeling good about YOU, of feeling at peace with each sweet moment of being in alignment with your soul’s mission.
On a more earthy level, allow and encourage yourself to feel HAPPY with small achievements, with feel-good, slice-of-life moments that just touch your heart. Yes, we all have those. Even in the midst of turbulent times, we can find these, though it takes more looking. So make sure to notice these, to be present and joyful, to simply savor the luscious-ness of these.
It is these kind of moments that do move you powerfully along on a good-feeling journey. These are the times when you feel so delightfully ALIVE. These are the moments when you are “in the flow” and all is incredibly right with the world.

Be A Conscious Creator – Write Your Life Story
Posted by: | CommentsAre you in the flow and process of designing a joyful, fulfilling life story? Are you totally aware that you are the architect of your present and your future?
I hope you do live in awareness of this, or maybe this will serve as a clear reminder. And if you are truly unfamiliar with this concept, then maybe this will be a bit of an awakening for you.
As a Reiki Teacher and Practitioner, I do meet many who come for healing and relaxation sessions. One of the biggest complaints/ailments of these times is stress. I’m sure that is no surprise to most. Stress can be a killer. It can cause tension, anxiety, imbalance, discord and if left to fester in a prolonged way, it can manifest into serious symptoms and dis-ease.
Most people would love a magical, anti-stress pill! So in place of that, many turn to antidepressants, mood elevators and the like — and today, doctors hand them out like candy.
To be in the flow of inner peace and well being, it takes inner WORK. There is no magic wand to wave.
It may take a combination of regular exercise, a truly healthy, nutritional way of eating, an excellent therapist, along with holistic/meditation/stillness practices. It takes thinking in a brand new way.
So many people feel “stuck” in old, negative thought patterns. It is essential to awake to the knowing that you — and only YOU — can make the shift to more joyful ways of thinking. Don’t expect your parent, your child, your partner/spouse, your friend to provide for your happiness.
When you begin to take responsibility for your life and your state of mind, that is when your real power emerges. And this doesn’t mean you have the ability to change all that is happening in your life. Your job, your family, the challenges in your immediate environment — some of that you may have to learn to cope with.
What you CAN do is choose the way you react to all that is happening in your surrounding reality. Your reaction is totally within your own control.
So do you become unglued, frustrated, stressed out? Or do you choose to remain in that place of inner peace and balance? I bet I can guess your preferred answer to that…
It is not always easy to tune in to that place of calm and harmony and flexibility — but it IS doable.
So by accepting responsibility for your own mindset and choices, you become that “conscious creator”. And if you can be in that place emotionally, then you will see how GOOD it feels. And how productive and optimistic you can be.
Are there times you will slip into old patterns, go down the rabbit hole of despair — sure, it happens. But know that you are strong and can bring yourself back to the light. Be kind and nurturing to yourself, especially at these times.
So begin to truly take charge of writing your life story – what is your delightful vision for yourself for the future? Make it happen, one step at a time — and remember to enjoy each moment of the journey!

Mindfulness – Being Present in the Now Moment
Posted by: | CommentsAre you given to an ultra fragmented mind with thoughts in all directions? Do you ever have that sensation of a dizzying swirl of memories, regrets, thoughts, wishes, plans, worries all vying for space in your head at once?
I do admit that I am certainly guilty of that at times. And so I do the inner work of being PRESENT. Our lives in this modern world are full, and multitasking seems to be a way of life, unless you are a monk in a monastery. The condition of “terminal busy-ness” seems to be an intrinsic part of the human experience. (And this is especially affected by all these technological devices that have become an integral part of most people’s lives.)
It is it healthy? Is it productive, really?
When ones attention is spread all over the place, it can feel like a loss of control and it is certainly the antithesis of inner peace.
So what many people seem to be seeking is peacefulness, stress-management, and/or a more meaningful life experience.
That is why we must awaken to the empowerment of PRESENCE, of being more immersed in the NOW moment. And that is not always easy to do…
By being focused and able to give ones real attention to the immediate moment, or task of the moment, brings more harmony and serenity into your reality.
It appears to be a natural human tendency to be mired in the past, with vast accumulations of worries and regrets — or overwhelmed with concern and worry about the future — “What will happen… etc. etc?” Where do you fall on this spectrum?
Bringing ones mind into living more presently has lovely benefits, and will allow you to feel a greater flow of ease with life.
Some suggestions:
1. Become aware of your state of mind. Are you uncomfortably unfocused more of the time than not? Check in with your thoughts. If it is easy enough to pull your concentration to the present and hold it there, then you are on the right track. However, if doing so is a momentous challenge, then begin to pay attention to beginning to achieve a sense of mindfulness.
2. When you feel stress, disconnect and tension begin to arise, just stop, sit and breathe. Focus on your breath and take five slow, deep cleansing breaths. This is not a magic solution, but it will help bring you into the present and head off anxiety before it becomes too overwhelming.
3. Strive to speak more slowly. I know many people who seem to speak at the speed of light — I think of them as “fast talkers”. It is sometimes stressful just listening to them. Check in with yourself – do you feel you have to speak ultra fast to get your thoughts expressed? Record yourself speaking and then listen. If you find yourself to be a fast talker, allow your speech to slow down in general. Work on making statements in a more thoughtful, calm way. This can make an amazingly positive difference in your life!
4. When you are frenzied, feeling particularly hectic, you can do what I have termed talking to yourself in your Higher Self reminder voice. Let your inner guidance lead. And allow your soul-self to remind you to “slow down and pay attention” or imagine you are hearing the phrase “be right here, right now.” If you have privacy, you can speak softly out loud, “Pay attention to this moment.” or “Just be in the moment” and it is amazing how you can shift your energy and concentration with a little boost from that inner voice.
5. When you are performing a simple or mundane task such as brushing your teeth or combing your hair, avoid letting your mind wander onto tomorrow’s “To Do” list. Instead, simply BE in the moment. For instance, pay attention to brushing each tooth carefully and diligently. Or whatever task you are doing, just DO that particular task without a runaway mind.
6. Carve some time out of your busy life to schedule a “nature break.” Spend time and connect with the natural world around you. Walk barefoot in the soft grass or in the sand. It is always rejuvenating to go to a beach or a lake or body of water and just allow yourself to connect with that peaceful element of water. Take a walk in the fresh air — even a short one is revitalizing and good for you both mentally and physically. And it does help you be present.
Affirmations:
- I take time each day to connect with my breath, and this causes a peaceful, mindful shift within me.
- I do the inner work to focus on the present moment and I am empowered!
- I find beauty and solace in simple aspects of my immediate environment.
Growing Older Gracefully

My hands grew old. I don’t know exactly when it happened, but now I look at my hands and they are lined and veined. They are the hands of a “mature” woman.
I remember during my newly divorced years, after 14+ years of marriage, with two children from that union, I considered myself having substantial life experience, a sort of savvy woman now on her own as a seasoned and capable single mom. I considered myself MATURE then, but I guess my hands still looked quite young…
I began to navigate the dating world in my mid thirties, mingling in a single parents scene of those my own age, plus many older. I remember what a close male friend always said about having a good indication of a woman’s age by the appearance of her hands. “A woman in her thirties still has that nice smooth skin on the back of her hands…but most that are in the next decade, not so much.” And he gestured at my hands, “See how smooth yours still are!” I was pleased that my hands were still something to admire.
As we would mingle and peruse different single venues, my friend discretely pointed out examples of women acquaintances whose hands had shown signs of age and maturity. He would selectively approach only those who had that “smooth skin” with the hopes of connecting and perhaps going out for a date.
Years passed and somewhere along the journey, I noticed that the skin on my hands had become more lined and weathered… more mature…
Sadly, our modern society places so much emphasis on youth and looking young. Everyone does their best not to “look old” and it takes grace to be open to permit oneself to age in a relatively natural, upbeat, joyful way. In general, we have such resistance to the concept, taught to us by the world in which we live — all the focus on the glory of youth.
So I have come to view my hands with a sense of ease and acceptance — a badge of honor that comes with age and wisdom. Growing older is a privilege I do not take lightly or for granted. And in my mind and attitude, I can still “be” in my thirties…
And in these last 12 years, as a Reiki Practitioner and Teacher, Reiki energy has flowed through my hands — energy that has given benefits of peace and healing to many others. Compassion toward others has manifested through my hands, as I gently place my them on recipients of Reiki in comfort and connection.
So if the skin on my hands is no longer smooth and youthful, I am okay with that. My hands bear the wisdom of my life experience — and that inspires a sense of pride, wonder, understanding and authenticity within me. My hands reflect my own unique journey…

- I greet each life stage with acceptance and grace.

Positive Attitude – Releasing Judgement
Posted by: | CommentsAre you sometimes too quick to criticize others? Do you tend to be judgmental in your attitude? Or are you even aware of this aspect of yourself?
In general, as those drama-seeking, emotion-filled human beings that we are, we tend to view others and their beliefs and actions with caution, skepticism and often great criticism. And I am not talking about that large political arena. I am referring to your own personal life and those relationships that surround you — even your immediate family members. Sometimes it is that close personal and social circle in which people seem to know how to press our buttons and we are quick to respond in a reactive, not-so-understanding way.
Within families there often tends to be bickering and ego-driven conclusions, arguments and gossip. We strike out and we JUDGE, sometimes in a very loud way.
It is so essential to begin to recognize this sense of judgment within ourselves, acknowledge that conflict-creating aspect of ourselves in order to begin to do some inner work to make a shift.
The wisdom of living a compassionate, loving, balanced life is embodied in the Reiki Precepts, which overall asks for us to strive for more humility and compassion, being as non-judgemental as possible. They encourage us to tone down or even silence the inner critic… letting the ego gently step aside. You don’t have to be Reiki-trained to follow this sage advice for living a kind, serene life.

Let us simply place our focus on experiencing our best and most compassionate journey. For letting go of judgment frees us from great resistance within, taking us a step closer to being that highest and best version of ourselves.
For ultimately, who are we to judge others? Are we so perfect and beyond reproach that we know everything — absolutely not! And certainly being judgemental impacts our worldview and is part of the reason why our larger reality is in this challenging, disconnected place of sadness and separation.
Let us achieve that sense of tolerance, understanding and peacefulness. Let us personally be the positive change that we wish to affect…

Thoughts on Love (both Human and Spiritual)
Posted by: | CommentsLove is the Oneness in our hearts that bridges the space between you and me and all of us and creates an expansive, inspired bond. It is the alignment of our souls on a dimension of Higher Consciousness.
Love is our remarkable and deep connection to all beings here on Mother Earth — that joyful bond that fills our senses…
It is a pure, uplifting, incredible, often indescribable emotion.
Anyone who has experienced the newness of being in love in a romantic way (and I would think that is most adults) knows what a true “rush” that can be — that exultant surge of emotion, that sensation of total attention and fascination with ones beloved.
Love is formless and timeless. There are so many versions, facets, perspectives — romantic love, maternal/paternal love of ones child, deep and powerful love of ones parent, and the love of our friends as well. Plus all sorts of variations and permutations on these too…
Love is that magnificent feeling that uplifts us, encourages us to be the best and most compassionate person we can be. Love on a deep level is placing the well being of another on the highest priority list, often before ones own well-being, illustrated perfectly by that profound and protective love of ones child.
Love catches us by surprise at times… Nothing could have prepared me me the most heart-awakening feelings that I experience as a grandparent for my grandchildren – a whole different version of family love that is remarkably powerful.
Do not forget to love yourself — be nurturing and kind to YOU.
Allow love to infuse your life on the highest level – be open and receptive always. Be in the space of appreciation, as human Love is such a glorious blessing.
And of course there is a whole other facet of love – the spiritual kind – the connection we have to God/Source/the Divine/Universe. Whatever beliefs you espouse, cultivate this spectacular connection, and trust that spirit and the Universe are always working for your Highest Good.
Be both a Messenger and Beacon of LOVE…

Positive Living – Gratitude in Each Moment
Posted by: | CommentsI am sitting out on my patio at dusk. It is the last unseasonably hot day in October. The forecast spans out with rain and cooler temperatures starting tomorrow, so I am sure this truly is the last HOT day to enjoy.
Have I grasped and seized the beauty of this day — certainly not enough! Of course, there was some work to do, some chores, some errands. And late in the afternoon it finally dawned on me: why was I not just EXPERIENCING this gorgeous autumn day, a day so reminiscent of summer that it makes one lose all real track of time and seasons.
So that little inner guidance voice tells me it is not too late — go out and EXPERIENCE the sunset outdoors. I bring out some music as well — melodic and beautiful Native American flute music. The mystical sound of the flute feels like the perfect accompaniment to the close of daylight. And I soak up the beauty of these moments…
And I am grateful… for this serene space in time…
I am grateful for this day — this glorious day that I get to SEE and FEEL… and be part of!
Sometimes we take all that for granted — the very essence of life. Just focusing on our breath can remind us — how natural and peaceful we can be even for but one moment in time.
I encourage you to partake of your life in a BIG way — do not sit on the sidelines and mope. Strive to EXPERIENCE the adventure of it all. Yes, we all know that some facets of our lives are not always perfect. We are often faced with challenges and drama as that is part of our existence here in the physical plane.
However, let us be in the supreme space of appreciation for BEING here, having a physical life, having interaction with others, having beautiful and loving relationships with others.
Having free will to make CHOICES and to set goals that resonate with our heartfelt dreams and desires.
We need to remember how powerful and creative we can be, for sometimes we forget. And let us be in the feeling of gratitude for having this ability and this knowing.
What are you grateful for? Tune in to your inner voice and acknowledge appreciation for your own unique life, your path, your soul’s mission…
Your life will be enriched and uplifted as the vibration of gratitude flows powerfully in your heart and mind!

Positive Attitude – Choices and Reactions
Posted by: | Comments“You create your own reality” — that is the catch phrase for this current time of spiritual evolution and accelerated soul development.
Have you integrated the energy of this concept into your daily life? Do you feel that you are a “powerful creator” of your life experience?
It is an enlightened time we live in — to even be able to come to an understanding that our thoughts/feelings/emotions/attitude can determine what we attract into our lives and our circumstances. It is “freeing” to know that we have a say — and a thought — into shaping our daily existence.
Years ago, most people held the belief that each of us is almost like a puppet, tossed about on the strings of life, just experiencing whatever life throws our way. We did not realize that we have so many choices and free will to make decisions about where we are headed. Life is not something that simply happens to us in a random way.
In more recent times we have come to the knowing that yes, we surely DO have the strong potential to invite those things that are significant to us, joyful to us, optimistic to us, into our day-to-day reality. That knowing is a kind of epiphany.
So now we begin to embrace the knowing, this understanding, of how to be a conscious creator. We know we need to reach for JOY, for LOVE, for OPTIMISM, and PEACE. We can become stronger and more focused in our soul/life path.
Yet being a conscious creator, a liver of the Law of Attraction, does not guarantee that our lives will be 100% positive all the time. For we are still humans living a physical life and part of our experience on planet Earth is dealing with periods of challenge or turbulence. We simply cannot control everything that comes across our life path, because we do not live in a vacuum. We interact with so many others along our journeys.
It is important to hold on to that inner strength of “Conscious Creator” when challenges/obstacles arise. And know you can remain strong and peaceful within. It all has to do with how you react. And you certainly have a choice as to how you react!
For it is this way that one reacts that determines your coping mechanism and ultimately how you will deal and heal. You can choose to handle these situations with powerful inner guidance, patience and stability.
So BE that Conscious Creator — be aware of what you attract into your life, and be aware that you CAN persevere through challenges as well. The flow of life will be easier and you will be more harmonious, more serene and better aligned with the stream of well-being!

Positive Attitude – Immerse in Joyful Moments
Posted by: | CommentsDo you sometimes catch yourself in sudden, beautiful awareness that you are filled with a supreme sense of joy? Just being in that moment when your heart feels light and your spirit is uplifted and all is right with the world?
Being happy all the time does not seem to be a human option here in the physical world, so we need to develop a keen awareness of “seizing the moment.” Focused mindfulness on those aspects that create a wave of happiness and optimism within our being are a wonderful step.
Everyone goes through challenges — that is a given. But how we react is a personal choice. And finding those unique moments of joy even within challenging times is essential for our well being. It jumpstarts and enhances our inner strength to weather the obstacles.
So I ask you to begin to catch those fascinating, life inspiring moments of pure joy. Totally and purely embrace those moments — feel the fine, silky, peacefulness of the flow of life at that instant in time — and savor it! Keep that tangible uplifting, exulting feeling with you. Commit it to “sense memory” so it is something you can reach for at other times…
Sometimes when I am holding or playing with a grandchild, I am filled with such a sense of happiness, serenity and love… and I feel at great peace with the world. Or when my kitties are laying near me or on my lap, cuddling and loving — for me that is sweet joy.
When I take a walk along the trail, listening to my favorite music on my headset, I feel uplifted! When my husband and I are out together, just the two of us, sharing our thoughts, having heartfelt conversation and sharing moments of laughter and fun, that is simply delightful!
And sometimes, just sitting in quiet stillness is so deeply and supremely satisfying.
Whatever feel-good moments work for you are those in which to immerse. Pay attention to those particular components of your own life. Strive to make more of an effort to become consciously aware of the joyful moments, those in which you are aligned with the optimistic stream of harmony and balance.
And when you experience those, hold on to that delectable flavor!
Often when we come to this keen awareness, it becomes easier to find and savor more of these times. And isn’t that what we all wish — to spend more time in the flow of happiness? We need to do the inner work to make that happen…
Affirmations:
- I raise my awareness of those uplifting moments of pure happiness — and savor them!
- In times of challenge, I choose to seek out and focus on those positive and joyful aspects within my reality.

Un buen paso para comenzar es enfocando la conciencia en esos aspectos que crean una ola de felicidad y optimismo dentro de nuestro ser.
Todos enfrentamos retos en la vida — es un hecho. Pero cómo reaccionamos es una elección personal. Y encontrar esos ratos excepcionales de felicidad, aún en los momentos desafiantes, es esencial para nuestro bienestar ya que nos dan los bríos necesarios para aumentar nuestra fuerza interior y así afrontar los obstáculos.
Mi consejo es que empieces a reconocer estos fascinantes momentos de gozo total que dan color a la vida. Acoge totalmente estos momentos — siente como la vida fluye, fina, sedosa y pacífica — ¡y disfruta del momento! Conserva esa sensación tangible de júbilo. Internalízala en tu “memoria sensata” para que puedas tener acceso a esta sensación en todo momento…
Algunas veces, cuando cargo a mi nieto en brazos o juego con él, siento gran felicidad, serenidad y amor… y me siento en paz con el mundo. O cuando mis gatos se acuestan cerca de mí o en mis piernas, acurrucados y amoros — esto para mí es felicidad exquisita.
Cuando salgo a caminar por algún sendero con audífonos puestos, escuchando mi música favorita, ¡me siento elevada espiritualmente! Cuando mi marido y yo estamos solos intercambiando ideas, conversando de corazón a corazón y compartiendo momentos de risa y diversión, ¡esto es placer incomparable!
A veces, solamente estar sentada en silencio crea una sensación profunda y extremadamente agradable.
Los momentos que te hacen sentir bien son en los cuales debes sumergirte. Presta atención a esos componentes concretos de tu propia vida. Esmérate en poner de tu parte para tener más conciencia de los momentos alegres, esos que estén alineados con la corriente optimista de armonía y balance.
Y cuando experimentes esos momentos, ¡aférrate a esa deliciosa sensación!

Design the Highest and Best Version of You
Posted by: | CommentsYes, you are good enough! You are a beautiful creation of the Divine, perfect in every way. Sometimes we need to be in the energy of this knowing: you are fine, just the way you are.
General self-acceptance is peaceful. Yet, most of us have aspirations of being/doing something more, perhaps something more aligned with our soul path and mission here on the earthly plane. So it is also okay to be bold, brave and beautiful and create your magnificent future self — to design the highest and best version of who you are.
And that is not in conflict with being confident in your own skin, in your own physical body. It is simply wanting to be your BEST, perhaps more joyful, perhaps with more clarity, perhaps with more compassion. You are on your own unique path, and there are always internal “signposts” that can help you be more uplifted on your journey!
Maybe you wish to further your service to others. Maybe you wish to have more meaning in your life. Maybe you want improved relationships. Maybe you want to be more patient. Or more goal-oriented.
It is okay to WANT, to DREAM, to PLAN your most amazing life. To CREATE that which will resonate with your own heart.
To gain clarity and vision, it is helpful to make special time for quietude, stillness, meditation. These are the moments when you can truly tune in to your powerful inner guidance.
Promise yourself — more “stillness breaks” — more opportunity to listen to that small, wise inner voice. Imagine the most radiant YOU. Visualize your ultimate happy, glowing self.
Promise yourself that when become physically and emotionally weary from all the tasks of your day, that you will take a few minutes and breathe… breathe in to the knowing of that beautiful, glorious YOU — the one who is in touch with inner peace, the one who knows in which direction you are navigating for your Highest Good.
Promise yourself that you will be close with those people that support you, that cheer you on. And that you will do your best to release and move away from those individuals that are negative to you, those that sap your energy.
Promise to allow yourself to create your best life — give yourself space and motivation to be who you need and wish to be — a joyful, radiant child of the Universe who walks in the illuminated path of LOVE…
